The babies and us have had a good amount of visitors and helpers since they’ve arrived in the world on the 25th.
Mommy’s Aunt Jere rushed up to St. Luke’s during Susan’s surgery and was gracious enough to follow the boys in the Kangaroo Crew ambulance from St. Luke’s Hospital to Texas Children’s and stay with them so Daddy could stay and be with Susan while she awoke following surgery. Daddy was able to head downtown to Texas Children’s later that night to visit the boys as well. Aunt Jere and Uncle Mike have been absolutely amazing, bringing some awesome and tasty homemade pizzas, salad, sandwiches’, and more.
Mommy’s sisters Lori and Aimee drove down soon after from Nebraska and Missouri. They’ve also been amazing helpers, running errands, getting food and drinks to give Mommy and Daddy a break, watching over the boys so they could sleep, doing laundry so they won’t stink, and keeping a watchful eye on the nurses.
Zayda and Granny (Daddy’s Dad & Step-mom) drove down next from Kansas City and got to spend quality time with the boys and Mommy and Daddy. The boys were well behaved for them, weaning themselves off the oxygen and epinephrine a bit. Nurse Allison hung pumpkins on their incubators, and Nathan joyfully returned the favor with a trick diaper filled with lots of treats.
Grandma (Daddy’s mom) will be down soon from Nebraska on November 4th through November 15th and the boys are ecstatic to meet her too!
The social worker showed up today and gave us some great news about the parking. No more $12 per day parking rate – the nice lady put us on “the list” and we can finally park for free with a short shuttle ride or 10 minute walk from the garage. One less thing on the list to worry about!
I have enjoyed being here for the last 6 days!!!! There were some bad moments BUT some very HAPPY moments as well! I am sooooo glad I got to share these moments with all 4 of you!
