Bath Time!
Jaxen gained 10 grams, Owyn lost a few, but also finally got rid of a lot of meconium. They’ve both had their IVs removed, so the only thing left is their feeding tubes which will stay in for a couple more weeks until they learn how to eat. Both boys are still under the light for jaundice but they’ll re-test tomorrow.
Mommy finally got out of the hospital for a few hours today to see the pups at home and get some sunlight. She also gave both boys baths today. Photos here! http://1drv.ms/1tVCkgz
Sweet, boring babies!
It’s taken a bit of time to update our blog, but the main reason is due to the lack of news to share! They tell us we have “boring babies” but in a very positive way =). The boys’ infection results came back this morning – negative! They were taken off their antibiotics. They’re also off their CPAPs since they were breathing room air and not needing any oxygen. Today they will also most likely have their IVs removed since they’re almost up to full feeding levels. They’re a little jaundice so they also each got bilirubin lights and some cool shades to protect their eyes from the blue light. Also their food is being supplemented with extra protein as they are occasionally spitting up some of their meals, but not enough to cause any concern.
Mommy was officially discharged around lunch time today, so we’re no longer having to bounce back and forth between the NICU and her room which is great! However, now that she no longer has a room, we unfortunately can no longer receive any flowers or balloons since they aren’t allowed in the NICU.
The doctors say the boys are doing so well they will most likely be transferred to “Level 2” NICU care which is for those who aren’t critical and in need of constantly close watch, so we may end up being moved across the street to the Texas Children’s West Tower which is the building that we stayed in during our time with Nathan and Kaleb two years ago.
The boys are being spoiled regularly spending plenty of “skin-to-skin” aka “Kangaroo care” time clung onto both of our chests. This is also helping Mommy make even MORE milk which she’s already way ahead of the curve on! By today or tomorrow we will no longer need to rely on donor milk. Both the nurses and milk bank are quite impressed, especially considering it’s only day 3!
Happy Birthday Owyn Glenn and Jaxen Robert!!!
Owyn Glenn was born at 9:51am weighing in at 3lb 14oz and Jaxen Robert was born at 9:50am weighing in at 3lb 11oz. The boys and mom are doing great! Our total estimated time in NICU will be about 4 weeks, but depends on how well they behave!

Time for some bed rest…
Baby A’s water broke around 2am this morning so we rushed down to the hospital (definitely a good time of day if you want to avoid some traffic, but equally as good if you want to see a crazy (drunk?!) driver doing a 360 on Highway 290 and ramming his back end into the cement barrier wall). Both babies are doing great and are quite active. Mom hasn’t had any big labor pains and has been given the concoction of Magnesium Sulfate to make sure she doesn’t, as well as antibiotics to keep infection at bay since there’s less amniotic fluid protecting Baby A now. Contractions are very slight, dilation is 0, and we’ll be living here for (hopefully) a few weeks baking ’em a little longer until they’re fully set up. Mom’s being starved until further notice. Aunt Jere and Betty stopped by for a visit, it was great to see them!
I was being sneaky, yes I was…
Two healthy heartbeats, and yes, still two boys. Whoda-thunk Susan could be soOooO lucky???

The Amazing Healing Power Pups
We can’t thank everyone enough for all the support and prayers. We couldnt have gotten through it any other way. We are home resting now, and beginning a new chapter of healing and reminiscing about the good days that us, our family, and so many friends were able to spend with our precious boys. They will be in our hearts forever.
Love,
Susan, Russ, Gizmo, and Bella Rimmerman

Rest in Peace Nathan Robert
